Hi everyone. I don't know if I'm welcomed here or not since I've personally not lost anyone, but my girlfriend is going through anticipatory grief. Her mom has cancer. Sometimes it's hard for me to not say something which would offend or trigger her while talking about her grief. She says she feels distant from me a lot of times and that she doesn't relate to me in those times. Can anyone help me by suggesting what I should and shouldn't say to comfort her? I know she doesn't like hearing the following: "I don't know what to say", "I understand", "be a bit hopeful". Thank you for reading.
