Went to a family type function this weekend, and everyone was bashing on my uncle. They obvs know him better (it's been quite a number of years since I've been a part of anything family related), and are entitled to their opinion. But it made me realize that a funeral is just a place people go to pretend to mourn you. People who honestly grieve, do every day alone. And that's my intent. To grieve apart from the family.
